THE MEMOIR

Well, That Was Unnecessary

An informal review of recent events

A completed literary memoir.

A completed literary memoir about rebuilding an ordinary life after extraordinary change. Rather than asking how someone survives catastrophe, it explores the quieter, more enduring question: what happens next?

The memoir follows the years after a marriage ends, not the dramatic moment of collapse, but the long, ordinary aftermath. The passwords that need changing. The dinners that still need making. The slow, sometimes funny, sometimes devastating work of figuring out who you are when the life you built around someone else is no longer there.

It is about continuing. About the strange way grief and curiosity can coexist. About what it means to rebuild not just a life, but a sense of what a life is for.

Softly lit notebook and handwritten page of notes, suggesting an intimate, in‑progress memoir taking shape.
